Events and Activities
The annual gala is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Parents’ Association. A team of parents and other members of the Prep community develop a special theme for a dinner/dance and auction, and then work to solicit donations for fabulous merchandise that can be sold or auctioned during the evening. Proceeds from the event support tuition assistance and Breakthrough Santa Fe.
Gala 2009: A Moroccan Bazaar
This year’s gala unfolded on Saturday, April 25th at the Center for Contemporary Arts, which was transformed for the evening into an exotic, bustling Moroccan marketplace. Merchandise from Santa Kilim, Jackalope and Antiquarius were available for sale at special market stalls; booths filled with new and gently used donated items--from jewelry to hand-made pillows to tea and art--were also available for purchase during the evening. Other items, like fine art, vacation get-aways and jewelry, were sold during a fun Silent Auction. More than $60,000 was raised from the event, with funds going to tuition assistance and Breakthrough Santa Fe.
